Caregiver Services Available

Hospice Alliance offers a wealth of resources for our caregivers and patients. In its most common form, the Circle of Care built around a patient’s Care Plan provides 24/7 support and advice via round-the-clock access to a Hospice RN. This supplements the scheduled visits from the RN Case Manager, Social Worker, Chaplain and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant, who is available to assist in daily cares up to five days each week.

Additionally, many patients’ Care Plans involve assistance from a volunteer or a therapist.  Our volunteers often visit with patients to give caregivers a bit of a break and to supplement the day-to-day care they are providing.  Sometimes our volunteers will play a game with a patient – such as checkers or cards, or read a book or the newspaper aloud to him or her. If a patient is known to have an affinity for music, or art, or a love of animals, often Hospice Alliance’s Pet Therapists, Art Therapist or Dance/Movement Therapist will have visits scheduled into the Care Plan.

Hospice Alliance is on the forefront of offering innovative therapies, and the first in the area to offer Dance/Movement Therapy. These types of special therapies, which we believe support our mission of “adding more life to days” are compliments of Hospice Alliance and underwritten by our supporters.

Veterans hold a special place our hearts at Hospice Alliance.  Long before special programs were available to honor Vets, Hospice Alliance was honoring each and everyone one with a special certificate, lapghan or quilt and pin. We honor our Veterans and thank them for their service.
